The roots of the Carpet & Rug Cleaners Institute of Illinois
(CRCII) can be traced to 1925. The organization became more
structured in the mid-1930s with periodic meetings.
After
World War II, the association was recognized as a leader in
the industry. Chicago was christened the "Loose rug cleaning
capital of the world". This was accomplished when members
pooled their money and advertised "Professional Loose
Rug Cleaning", not for a company but for the industry,
and everyone benefited.
CRCII members take pride in their work. They are a group of
highly qualified, full time professionals. They broaden their
experiences by talking with other successful people who own
a business similar to theirs, regardless of how large or small.
